Level Walkthroughs

    Pop Me   [index]

  1. This is not hard to beat. Your 5 darts are sufficient to get 100% of the bloons, although it's not too easy to do so.

    First shot: a low arc over the bloons, to take a "haircut" of 14 bloons off the top left corner, top and right corner. There should be no stray bloons separate from the remaining mass.

    Second-Fifth shots: Working from left to right, take max-power shots to blast through diagonal rows of bloons. With a little skill, you can pop them all with 4 darts.

    My best score is 100% / 44.

  2. Pop Me 2  [index]

  3. This is not hard to beat at all. Given only four darts, it seems to be impossible to get 100%. But getting the required 70 bloons is pretty easy. To get the most possible bloons, use arc shots. Each dart should target two rows of bloons, working from bottom to top.

    First shot: A strong, low arc to hit the bottom two rows of bloons. This can pop up to 23 bloons.

    Second shot: A higher arc to hit the next highest two rows of bloons. The can take your score up to 48 bloons.

    Third shot: A yet higher arc, taking out the next highest two rows of bloons. This can take your score to 74 bloons.

    Fourth shot: This last arc should target the top 2 rows. This can take your score to 96 bloons (my best).

    Generally speaking, your shots should be strong enough that the dart exits out the right side of the bloon mass, as opposed to arcing down the right side in order to pop a few more bloons. I find that this tends to pop more bloons. Your total bloon count will depend on exactly how your darts travel between rows of bloons.

    My best score is 72.7% / 96.

  4. Surprise  [index]

  5. This is slightly difficult to beat, in the sense of getting enough bloons to beat it. You'll want to pop one of the tack bloons in the center, which will explode the other one, and explode a majority of the bloons in the center of the bloon mass. You can either do a high arc (so that your dart comes down in the middle of the bloon mass, hitting one of the tack bloons), or do a soft arc or max-power shot directly at the tack bloons. After that, you can see what bloons are left over (usually around 10 on top, and around 6-8 on the bottom).

    First shot: I think the best shot to start with is a gentle arc that comes under, and just barely hits, the lower-right tack bloon. This can pop as many as 51 bloons, and can leave you with as few as 6 bloons on the bottom half of the screen, which can then be taken out with the second dart.

    Second shot: Generally, a max-power shot is better on the bottom bloons, and you can usually pop all but one or two of the bloons.

    Third shot: Generally, a high arc is better for the bloons left at the top, since there are more likely to be bloons in two rows. I have no more specific strategies here.

    My best score is 92.6% / 63.

  6. Triangles  [index]

  7. This is a little hard to beat, in the sense of hitting enough bloons to beat it. I think the best way to approach this is to work from left to right.

    First shot: A max-power shot, taking out the leftmost two diagonal rows of bloons - this can pop 13 bloons.

    Second shot: Similar to the first, but angled slightly to the right. This can pop 8 more bloons, eliminating the topmost bloon triangle and leaving a stray bloon from the leftmost bloon triangle.

    Third and Fourth shots: At this point, in the middle of the level, you can have as little as one bloon remaining from the leftmost triangle, most of the center triangle, and all of the rightmost triangle, remaining. These can be totally eliminated with the next two shots, but it's tricky.

    Fifth shot: You can clear the top two rows (8 bloons) of the bottommost triangle with a single shot. Your shot must be absolutely at max power, and maybe a pixel or two above horizontal. This is hard to do consistently, but you can practice this shot by itself.

    The above was my strategy to get a best score of 91.1% / 41.

    Then, fooling around, I got a score of 95.6% / 43 (leaving only two bloons on the playfield, the ones at the very top and bottom) with a totally different strategy. Basically, this entailed taking arc shots over the bloons, working from top to bottom, "peeling" off layers of bloons. I got lucky here, and don't have details at the moment.

    Actually, once I took out the top bloon too, with one of my first four shots, so that the fifth dart was left for the bottom triangle, with no other bloons on the playfield. (I messed up this last shot, though.) This means that a score of 97.8% / 44 should definitely be possible. CHALLENGE

    My best score is 95.6% / 43.

  8. Starburst  [index]

  9. This is easy to beat. You need to pop 70 of the 75 bloons, and a shot at pretty much any of the tack bloons with pop 73 or 74, leaving you with an unused dart. However, it is also pretty easy to get a score of 100% / 75, with a single dart.

    To do this, let's number the "points" of the 6-pointed star bloon mass like this:

    First shot: An arc that goes through the bloons at points 4 and then 3, hitting a tack bloon in between. This is not hard to do, and is pretty repeatable.

    My best score is 100% / 75.

  10. The Iron Curtain  [index]

  11. This is not hard to beat. With 6 darts it's pretty hard not to pop the required 29 bloons out of 42 (assuming your shots go through some part of the 4 columns of bloons, instead of going short or long).

    I have no specific advice here. Particularly for best scores. Since high arcs are required, the longer travel distance gives more room for errors.

    However, here is a proof that you can clear all the bloons and get a 100% score, using all 6 darts:

    We call the columns #1 and #2 (left and right), and in each column, we number the bloons thusly:

    These three shots cover all bloons in column #1, so if these three shots are made correctly, column #1 can be cleared with 3 darts

    Therefore, it's proven that it is possible, if you make the above 6 shots correctly, you can clear all the bloons and get a 100% score. I'm sure that other, slightly different, shot combinations are possible. These are just the first ones I wrote down.

    My best score is 97.6% / 41, missing only one bloon. Getting 100% is a CHALLENGE.

  12. Dart from above  [index]

  13. This level is slightly hard to beat unless you have a good strategy. It's also the first level in which you have to shoot downwards, so therefore you have to get used to how gravity affects your shots here.

    The general strategy I use is to pop the right-hand tack bloon first, then using the next 3-dart shot to cut a broad swath through the bloon mass in the upper right. Then, with your next shot, pop the other tack bloon, then also use the next 3-dart shot to cut through the largest remaining mass of bloons.

    With your last shot, you should just use your judgment to pop the maximum number of bloons, depending on what's left on the playfield.

    First shot: With max power, aim at the center of the bloon to the upper right of the right-hand tack bloon.

    Gravity will ensure that you pop the tack bloon. It's possible to get 21 bloons with this shot.

    Second shot: Aim in the vicinity of the third or fourth row, towards the right-hand side. Use a fairly strong, if not max-power shot. This will take your score up to 55 or so, or as much as 60.

    Third shot: Aim a strong shot directly at the remaining tack bloon. This will not pop many bloons along the way, and I don't think there's much room for strategy here.

    Fourth shot: With this 3-dart shot, aim for center of the remaining largest mass of bloons. You can sometimes pop all of this bunch except for maybe two in the lower left corner.

    This will leave around 10 bloons or so on the playfield, almost always with more in the upper right half of the playfield than in the lower left half.

    Fifth shot: At this point you'll probably have a suitable target of maybe 4-6 bloons in a line that can be easily popped with an arc shot.

    Using this strategy, you can usually get the required 85 bloons with 4 shots, and still have one dart remaining. The hard part is maximizing your score, of course.

    My best score is 92.3 % / 96.

  14. Holy Moley!  [index]

  15. This may be the easiest level yet.

    First shot: Pop one of the breakable walls. It doesn't matter which one.

    Second shot: Shoot at the space you just made. Hitting the tack bloon you just exposed will blow up the remaining poppable and breakable objects. This will give you a score of 100%, and leave you with one unnecessary dart remaining.

    My best score (and everyone's, I'm sure), is 100% / 14.

  16. Boing  [index]

  17. This is the first level with rubber walls. It is not hard to beat (get 29 out of the 33 bloons on the level). It is not even too hard to get 100% on the level.

    First shot: Make this a max-power shot in the middle of the third row (4 bloons), directly between the 2nd and 3rd bloons. This should pop 9 bloons.

    At this point, you have 3 darts level. It's easy to see that the upper and lower bloon masses should each be pretty easy to clear with 2 darts, or 3 if you're not skillful enough. The hard part, though, is getting the power correct so as to pop half of the top bloons and half of the bottom bloons with the same shot, and then do it again for the remaining halves.

    Second shot / Third shot: It's hard to give specific advice here, except that the shots should be moderately powerful, and aimed near the middle or top of the third rubber wall from the top. With not much practice, you should pop 29 of the bloons and win the level, if not get 100%.

    My best score is 100% / 33 (and I even managed to get it in just 3 darts, with one dart remaining).

  18. Parallel  [index]

  19. This is a pretty easy level, once you've learned a bit about rubber walls in the previous level.

    First shot: Simply aim a medium-power shot straight up the middle of the right-hand diagonal of bloons. With a little fiddling with the power, you should soon get the dart to bounce properly and come back down and pop most or all of the bloons in the left-hand diagonal of bloons.

    Second shot (if needed): Aim exactly as before (at the middle of the third rubber wall from the top, with the same medium power. Or, if there are only one or two (contiguous) bloons left, just aim straight at them. This should almost certainly get you a 100% score, with little practice.

    My best score is 100% / 32. (I managed, twice, to get it using only one dart, and leaving one dart unused. This is a cool little thing to do, and I'm sure many of you can do the same with little effort.)

  20. Tack-tile  [index]

  21. This is another fairly easy level with rubber walls.

    This is also the first level where you have to pop all of the bloons to win.

    You are given three darts, but it is not too hard to pop all of the bloons with just one dart.

    First shot: In the left-hand row of six rubber walls, aim at a spot about two or three pixels above the line between the third and fourth rubber walls.

    Second shot / Third shot: You shouldn't need these darts, but just in case, the instructions are the same as the first. Even with a slightly "off" first shot, you'll probably only have one bloon left in the top area, and/or you might have missed the tack bloons in the bottom. I'll be highly surprised if anyone needs 3 darts, after a little practice.

    My best score is 100% / 32, with just one dart, leaving two darts unused. This is pretty easy to repeat after a little practice.

  22. Arc  [index]

  23. This is a fairly easy level to win, as you only have to pop 32 out of 44 bloons in the level, and you have three darts to do it with.

    This is, however, the first level with ice bloons. You'll want to avoid them (at least until the end, as described here), but it's very easy to do so anyway.

    It is definitely possible to pop all of the non-ice bloons using all three darts. It's also possible to pop all of the non-ice bloons (the "arc" proper) with just two darts.

    First shot: Make an arc shot that follows the general path of the bloon mass, but popping both of the tack bloons (the dart barely misses hitting the upper ice bloon). This will usually leave an incomplete arc (the lower row; the first dart mainly pops the upper row of the arc) along with the two ice bloons.

    Second shot: It is possible to pop the rest of the "arc" bloons with the second dart, leaving only the two ice bloons on the playfield, but I've only done it once.

    Third shot: With two ice bloons remaining, I think it's impossible to pop them both with the third dart, even with a high arc, since they're horizontally aligned. But you can definitely pop one of them, giving you a score of 97.7% / 43. Unfortunately, on my one chance at this, I missed both ice bloons completely.

    Another possibility, the way I got 43 out of 44, is that, with the first two darts, I got all but one of the "arc" bloons. The remaining "arc" bloon was between, and slightly to the right of, the two ice bloons. With the third dart, I did a high arc that went to the left of the ice bloons, and came down to pop the upper ice bloon and the remaining "arc" bloon, leaving only the lower ice bloon on the playfield. This was a lucky shot indeed.

    My best score is 97.7% / 43. I think this is the best possible. I don't think it's possible to pop both ice bloons and all of the bloons in the arc, with just 3 darts - things are just too spread out.

  24. Reservoir  [index]

  25. This level is not just too hard - you just have to make one tricky shot, and that will suffice to beat the level.

    First shot: This is a little tricky, but you just have to do an arc to get the dart in the gap between the walls above the uppermost tack bloon. You'll have better odds of getting the dart through the gap without hitting the walls on either side, if you do a very high arc; but with the dart going off the top of the screen and then reentering, it's harder to visualize the arc, and hence your targeting accuracy. On the other hand, a low arc shot can also enter the gap, but the margin of error here is much smaller, and you'll usually hit the wall on either side. Either way can pop the uppermost tack bloon, and doing so will set off a chain reaction that will leave you with 25 bloons popped, exactly the target amount. You are then usually left (the explosion impact sometimes varies) with a block of 20 bloons (4 wide by 5 high), and 5 darts to pop them with.

    Second shot / Third shot / Fourth shot / Fifth shot / Sixth shot: These are just "cleanup" shots that are high arcs that come down and pop near-columns of bloons in the 4x5 bloon mass. The hardest ones to pop are the upper right and lower left. The upper right bloon is the one just under the single standalone metal wall. This is somewhat tricky to hit, but a glancing blow from the left side can pop it. The hardest bloon to pop is the one in the lower-left corner of the metal walls. A very high, "blind" arc shot is needed here, so the dart just skirts the right side of the vertical wall and pops the bloon in the corner. It took me many attempts just to get it once.

    Therefore, if you're going for a best score, take the two hardest shots first: hitting the tack bloon in the upper right, and the normal bloon in the lower left. It'll be very hard to do that with your first two dart; popping the remaining bloons will be easy after that.

    My best score is 95.6% / 43. I got this score twice, leaving only two bloons on the playfield (in one case, the bloon in the lower left corner, and the one just above it; in the other case, the bloon just below the single standalone metal wall, and the one just below it). Getting 100% is definitely possible, but it's a CHALLENGE.

  26. Maze  [index]

  27. This level is not too hard to beat, and not even too hard to get 100% on. But it's difficult to give specific hints on, as the bloons are surrounded by so many rubber walls, and the effects of the rubber walls on the darts' paths are so unpredictable. You're given three darts, and there's an extra-dart bloon that's pretty easy to get to, so four darts are plenty to get 100% with.

    First shot: If going for a best score, I think the first thing to do is a max-power shot aimed at the center of the upper-right rubber wall. This can pop the upper two rows of bloons (20 in all), although the dart bounces out and is then lost.

    Second shot / Third shot / Fourth shot (if you get it): It's a little hard to get the next darts "down" into the maze, as they'll often just bounce back out towards you. In general, I think gentle, low shots work best here. After that, who knows how the darts will bounce around inside the maze!

    My best score is 100% / 64. I've done this with only two darts, leaving two unused. It might be possible to do it with only one dart, but I doubt it, and that's a CHALLENGE.

  28. One in a hundred  [index]

  29. This is the first level with a boomerang bloon. Since you only have one dart to start with, you have to hit the boomerang bloon with that first dart, giving you a second shot with which to beat the level.

    First shot: There are two approaches here. One is to do a low arc across the bottom two rows of bloons, hitting the boomerang bloon near the end. This can pop as many as 17 bloons. On the other hand, a high arc that goes through the large mass of bloons on top, and comes down to pop the boomerang bloon last, can pop as many as 32 bloons. However, the advantage here is not at all clear. The second (boomerang) shot will cover some of the same territory, so the choice is between "pop more on the first shot, or pop more on the second shot?"

    Second shot: I think that the boomerang shot is kind of weird, and even after much experience, it's hard to predict its path, but maybe it's just me. In this level, you'll want to use a max-power shot. Aim at the bottom row of the larger bloon mass, at the tip of the fourth bloon from the left. This seems to usually result in a score of 70 or greater, enough to win the level.

    My best score is 77% / 77.

  30. Boomer  [index]

  31. This is a somewhat easy level, in terms of approach, and in terms of getting the target score. It's also the second level with a boomerang bloon, to give you a little more experience.

    First shot: You have to pop the boomerang bloon, of course. It's in this position in the upper left of the playfield:

    It's possible to get 10 bloons with your first shot (no more, I'm pretty sure).

    With an almost (but not total) max-power shot, aim at just a pixel or so inside the left side of bloon #11. The shot will pop #10, #6, and #2, then come back down and pop the "B"oomerang bloon, and pop two columns of bloons at once (#3 and #4, #7 and #8, and #11 and #12).

    Second shot: In the upper, center 4x3 bloon mass, aim at a spot just above where the bloons in the middle of the upper row meet. This should usually pop 22 (and rarely 23) bloons between the two remaining 4x3 bloon masses.

    My best score is 89.2% / 33.

  32. Shapes  [index]

  33. This is a very easy level. There are 5 separate bloon masses, each with two to four tack bloons inside, and with 4 darts, you have to pop ALL of the bloons. For each bloon mass, popping its tack bloons usually destroys the entire bloon mass. Or if not, tacks from adjacent masses will pop any stray bloons. I think it's pretty hard not to win this level with four darts. However, it is also possible to win with only two darts, leaving two darts unused. Here's how:

    Given the bloon masses numbered like this:

    There are two two-dart approaches here. Pop either 1, 3 and 5 with the first dart, and 2 and 4 with the second; or 1, 2 and 4 with the first dart, and 3 and 5 with the second. I don't think it much matters, but I tend to prefer the former.

    First shot: With an almost totally max-power shot, aim at the right side of the rightmost bloon on the top row of bloon mass #1. This will pop all of #1's bloons, then come down through #3 and #5, popping all of their bloons too.

    Second shot: A simple high arc, that goes up the left side of the playfield, then comes down through #2 and #4, popping all of their bloons. There is no visual reference point here that I can give you, but this shot is pretty easy.

    My best score is 100% / 98.

  34. Chain Reaction  [index]

  35. This is another very easy level. You have to pop ALL of the 105 bloons in the level, and you have two darts, both of which you'll need. (Notice a display bug here: The level number is shown as "28." instead of "18.")

    The idea is simple. There are three breakable walls in the level, and you have to break one of them with your first dart, then get the second dart through the opening you just created, in order to hit one of the tack bloons just beyond. Popping any of the tack bloons sets off the titled chain reaction, automatically popping all bloons in the level and achieving the target score. Given the three breakable walls in these positions:

    I think that the #2 approach is the least likely one, #3 much easier, but #1 is the best. #2 is not hard to hit, but it's a little tricky to get the second dart at the right angle through the gap, but it CAN be done. #3 is easy, except the distance and gravity make it possible for you to miss either shot.

    As I said, #1 is easiest. Here's how to beat this level every time using this approach:

    First shot: With a max-power shot, aim at the upper-right corner of this breakable block. It will be destroyed.

    Second shot: Same as the first; you don't even need to move the cursor.

    My best score is 100% / 105.

  36. Light the fuse  [index]

  37. This is a trivial level. One dart with which to pop all 65 bloons in the level. It is, however, your first exposure to the "bomb bloon".

    First shot: Just aim at the tack bloon nearest you. It couldn't be easier.

    My best score is 100% / 65.

  38. Loopy  [index]

  39. This is a pretty easy level. You only have one dart with which to pop 22 out of 27 bloons. In fact, you should be experienced enough by this point to realize that you can pop all of the bloons with that one dart.

    First shot: Locate the tack bloon in the upper (center) bloon mass, and aim the cursor to the open space almost 3 bloon widths to the left. The difficulty here is not so much with getting the right angle, but getting the right power. This is a moderately strong shot, but the margin of error is small in which to get the dart's arc to pop all three tack bloons.

    My best score is 100% / 27.

  40. Throwback  [index]

  41. This is a very easy level, but some people get confused by the "Pac-man" bloon (read the object description for it above).

    You have only one dart with which you must pop all 13 bloons in the level, but it's trivial, really.

    First shot: A max-power shot, aimed directly at the Pac-man bloon. Quickly switching to the keyboard, use the arrow keys to move the Pac-man around the adjacent metal wall, to the nearest normal bloon, then just follow the trail of bloons. The only pressure here is time - you can't waste more than a second or two after the Pac-man is activated.

    My best score is 100% / 13.

  42. Round-a-bout  [index]

  43. This another boomerang-based level. It's not hard to get the target 68 bloons.

    You start with two darts, but you must use one just to get the boomerang bloon. So you really only get one normal shot and a boomerang shot with which to attack the main bloon mass in the center. The boomerang can pop a large swath of bloons (on the way out, and on the way back, circling around but not hitting the two ice bloons in the center, hence the level's title. And then you can use the normal shot to "clean up" the best bunch of remaining bloons. But I considered whether you might want to reverse the order: use a normal dart to pop a bunch of bloons that the boomerang might not do too well on, then use the other dart to get the boomerang, then boomerang as many bloons of the remaining mass as possible. The choice is not clear, but I think that since the boomerang does such a good job, it's probably best to use it first; at least that's how

    I got my own best score.

    First shot: A max-power shot directly at the boomerang bloon.

    Second shot: Aim at the center of the third bloon from the left in the top row, and use exactly maximum power. This should pop from 65 to 70 bloons, taking you near, if not over, the target score.

    Third shot: You'll be left with a few stray bloons in the upper left, and a few in a vertical line on the right side, and mainly with a block of 14 bloons or so below the ice bloons. These last are the best target. You'll want to do a max-power shot in an arc that goes through the middle of that block, aimed at the line of bloons on the right, intending to pop one or two there too. This should pop another 10 bloons or so.

    My best score is 82.7% / 81.

  44. Ouchie  [index]

  45. This is the first level that really seems to vex a lot of players. Indeed, when writing this, this was the first level where I really had to spend a few minutes to remember exactly how I solved it. Then, of course, I bested my previous best score from 37, to 38, to 40, then to 41, in just a couple of minutes.

    This is also the first level with "mine bloons" in it. You'll quickly learn that if you pop too many mine bloons here, they'll pop the ice bloons below them, resulting in a number of frozen bloons, leaving you short of the target.

    You only have one dart to do this with, too. The way I got my best score of 41 was as follows:

    First (and only) shot: This should be a medium-power, medium-arc shot that goes through the row of 6 normal bloons that lies between the row of mine bloons and the row of ice bloons, WITHOUT hitting any mine bloons or ice bloons. It's tricky, and takes a lot of finesse. Picture one more bloon to the left of the first normal bloon; your aim point should be in the center of this imaginary bloon. After that, it's a matter of getting the shot power juuust right. After passing through the row of normal bloons, the dart should bounce off of the right-hand rubber wall in order to pass through the bloon mass below, popping some tack bloons and setting off a chain reaction that should easily get you a score of around 37 to 41.

    However, I have found in a couple of cases that it's possible to "accidentally" have this shot go too high,

    popping a mine bloon or two, thereby popping an ice bloon or two and freezing some bloons, and still have the

    dart bounce just right in order to hit the tack bloons and get you a high enough score to win. I've gotten scores up to 40 this way. Maybe even better scores are possible this way, but I doubt it; and anyway, this seems to be harder to achieve than the first way.

    My best score is 75.9% / 41.

  46. Monsta  [index]

  47. With so many rubber walls in this level, unpredictable shots abound. You start with only two darts, but with the opportunity to pop three tack bloons and three multi-dart bloons, it's not very hard reach the target score of 32 out of 41 bloons in the playfield. In fact, it's not even that rare to get 100% / 41.

    All I can offer are some general strategies here, with the techniques I used to get 100% / 41.

    First shot: Aim at the center of the tenth rubber wall from the left in the top row. Don't use maximum power - that'll make it much more likely that the dart will bounce back at you. You want the dart to hit the center tack bloon, then arc into the upper left side and bounce around the left side, doing whatever damage it can.

    Second shot: This will be a multi-dart shot, since hitting the tack bloon with your first shot should have popped the central multi-dart bloon. Depending on what's left, it's certainly possible to clear out the left half of the playfield with just the first two darts. I haven't been able to do it with just one, and I think it's impossible, since that single dart would have to hit both the left-hand multi-dart, and the single normal bloon on the other side of the wall above it, which seems impossible with one dart.

    Third shot: Nevertheless, with your first two shots, the left half can be clear, and (since the second shot can have hit the multi-dart bloon in the lower left), you should have a multi-dart shot next. This should be a high arc that goes to the upper right and comes down the right side, doing whatever damage it can. If you're lucky, you'll pop the right-hand tack bloon, but probably not the multi-dart bloon in the lower-right.

    Fourth shot: The multi-dart bloon in the lower-right will probably still be there, and since this will be your last shot unless you pop that multi-dart bloon, you'll have to plan accordingly.

    Fifth shot: This shot can probably clean up any remaining bloon or two. It's certainly possible to get 100% / 41 by now. I think it's possible to do so with only four darts, but I haven't done it myself, so that can be a CHALLENGE.

    My best score is 100% / 41.

  48. Demolition  [index]

  49. This level is not very hard, and it's hard to not achieve the target of 65 bloons out of 71.

    The major target here is the upper row of mine bloons. You have four bloons to hit them with, and doing do will destroy most items on the playfield and get you a score of 65. (Or sometimes 63 - note that when all the mines drop, sometimes the leftmost column of 2 normal bloons doesn't get popped. I don't know why this happens, but if it does, I just reset and try again.) This leaves a 2x2 block of normal bloons in the lower right corner of the playfield.

    Now it's certainly possible to pop all of the upper mines with four darts, but it's also possible to do it with just two, leaving two darts to pop the leftover 2x2 block. Which is also possible, so a score of 100% / 71 is achievable without too much effort.

    First shot / Second shot: There are two approaches to popping the upper row of mine bloons with two shots. One is to do two gentle arcs - one to pop the left-hand 8 or so bloons, and one to pop the remaining ones. Naturally, the first shot will be very low-powered, and the second one medium-powered. But because it's a bit hard to judge the power needed on the second shot, since the target bloon is halfway across the playfield, I recommend a different approach. For the first shot, select a steeper angle and a higher power, so that you pop the leftmost 3 mine bloons, the dart goes off the top of the screen, and it comes down and pops the rightmost 3 or even 4 mine bloons. This shot is not that hard to do. This leaves 11 or 12 bloons in a row, with the left end closer to you than than the previously-described approach, and the second shot can easily pop these remaining bloons.

    Third shot / Fourth shot: For these, you need a targeting point. The only items left on the playfield should be the stuff in the lower right corner:

    (Where Ws are breakable walls, and Bs are bloons. The "." is an empty space, but it is our targeting spot for these two shots. Simply imagine a wall at that spot, and aim at its upper-right corner. Usually a max-powered shot will pop the top two bloons and the lower right one. Doing the same shot, but with a smidgen less power, can pop the remaining bloon. Thus, you can get a score of 100% / 71.

    My best score is 100% / 71.

  50. 2 Paths  [index]

  51. This is yet another level with lots of rubber walls, leading to fairly unpredictable action. But after a few minutes of playing with it, it's not all that hard to pop the target 65 bloons. You only have one dart with which to do this.

    The general goal here is to pop all the bloons in the top two rows, before the dart bounces down either the left or right column; and then hope that the dart still has enough energy to bounce along the bottom row and trigger the tack bloon chain reaction.

    First shot: Aim at the upper left corner of the upper left bloon (or the upper right corner of the upper right bloon), with medium power. Quite often, the dart will bounce left and right several times, popping all of the bloons in the upper two rows, before dropping down either the left or right column.

    After that, a lot of luck is involved. Even if the upper two rows are cleared, it's not too likely that when the dart drops down a column, that all the bloons in that column will get popped; my rough guess is it only happens 1 out of 3 times. Even then, when the dart hits the bottom rubber wall, it might bounce a few times and just die without triggering the tack bloon chain reaction. But if you manage to clear the top and bottom rows, and one column, you'll have gotten a score of 66 or 67 or so. I find I can get 67 fairly often.

    I believe that a score of 68, or even 69, is possible, but this is a CHALLENGE. Here's my reasoning:

    Note that the playfield is almost symmetrical from left to right, except for the bottom row. So it doesn't much matter which (left or right) corner you aim at, or which column the dart drops down. So where do an extra 1 or 2 bloons come in?

    At the top, sometimes when the dart is bouncing around, it will manage to pop the innermost bloon of a 2-bloon column, without dropping down that column, and still have energy to bounce to the other side and drop down the other column. So even though it's obviously impossible for the dart to clear both columns, you can

    get a "free" popped bloon from one column while clearing the other.

    Secondly, the asymmetricalness of the bottom row does, I believe, determine which column you want the dart to drop down. The reason is that the two rightmost tack bloons are closer to the right column than the single leftmost tack bloon is to the left column. Even assuming that a column is cleared, and the tack bloon chain reaction triggered, you can see that if the dart bounces along the bottom from right to left, the tack bloon on the left will pop the innermost bloon of bottom 2-bloon row in the left column; whereas if the dart

    bounces from left to right, the rightmost tack bloons can pop *both* of the bloons in the bottom 2-bloon row of the left column. Hence you can pop one more bloon if the dart drops down the left column and bounces to the right.

    My best score is 90.5% / 67.

  52. Rubber  [index]

  53. This is another level that seems to stump a lot of players. This is probably because there's a little trick involved, and another unpredictable shot too.

    You only have two darts. The general idea is to pop all of the ice bloons with the first dart, then get the second dart to bounce along the just-created frozen bloons, down into right-hand "well" and pop enough bloons to get the target 15.

    First shot: This is a very low arc, with a moderate amount of power, that pops all 6 of the ice bloons. At first I found it hard myself, but with a little practice, it's not hard to do this successfully almost every time you try. In fact, I think the second shot is harder.

    Second shot: You must lob the dart up onto the frozen bloons with enough energy to go all the way to the right and drop down into the well. You should use a moderate amount of power. Too little, and the dart won't have enough energy to bounce all the way to the right; too much, and it often bounces off the rightmost frozen bloon, up into the breakable wall just above the "well" entrance. Add to this the fact that dart bounces on frozen bloons seem to be pretty unpredictable; often the dart will just get stuck, or even reverse course.

    I think that as you've made both both shots correctly, and as long as the bloon gets into the "well", you'll always pop at least 15 bloons.

    My best score is 43.6% / 17.

  54. Big Ball  [index]

  55. (Notice a display bug here: The level number is shown as "18." instead of "28.")

    This is a pretty hard level to beat, as you only have 8 darts with which to pop the target 90 bloons. The target count means you have to pop almost every bloon in the level, while avoiding the three ice bloons in a row near the bottom of the bloon mass. Even with my vast Bloons experience, it took me 15 minutes of playing to beat the level again while writing this. Luck and accuracy help here, more than in almost every other level in the game. Here are my suggestions:

    First shot: I recommend a "haircut" over the top of the bloon mass; this is a high arc that pops maybe two bloons on the upper left side, pops the top row of five bloons, then comes down the upper right and right sides. This shot in general is not hard to make, and can pop from 20-25 bloons, and as many as 29! It's okay if you leave a bloon or two separated from the remaining mass, but only on the right half of the playfield.

    If a stray bloon remains on the left or upper left, it'll be a bad thing; though your subsequent shots can pop strays on the right, any strays on the left will reduce your chances of beating the level, so you'll want to just reset the level and try the first shot again. This "no strays on the left rule" applies generally for the upper portion of the playfield. (Almost) every bloon counts in this level!

    Second shot / Third shot / Fourth shot: These will be max-power, straight shots angled up and to the right, "peeling" off diagonal columns of bloons from left to right. Again, leave no strays to the left.

    Hopefully, after four shots, you have a score of around 60-65, and there's nothing left but the row with ice bloons, and two rows on top and on bottom of it (and maybe a bloon or two in the upper right of the third row on top).

    You now have four darts left. Since shots to the upper two rows may come dangerously close to the ice bloons, I think it's safer to first target a dart or two at the lower two rows. (Maybe it's just me, but I execute these shots without hitting the ice bloons, much more safely than shots at the upper two rows.)

    Fifth shot / Sixth shot: Do low, medium-powered arcs to pop the bloons in the lower two rows. Note that it is possible to pop as many as 13 bloons (leaving only one remaining) in the bottom two rows, with a single dart. But you'll probably need to use two darts.

    Seventh shot / Eighth shot: Do slightly elevated, medium-powered arcs to pop the bloons in the upper two rows, and possibly also the two bloons at the right end of the ice-bloon row.

    My best score is 94.1% / 96. Even now, I can't remember, or even fathom, how I achieved this. Perhaps there's another strategy that I've forgotten. I haven't scored above 91 bloons since, and doing so, or even demonstrating how to do so, is a CHALLENGE.

  56. Air Raid  [index]

  57. After level 28, this is a very easy level, thank goodness.

    It's pretty easy to get a perfect score on this level.

    There are four bomb bloons on the playfield, and hitting each one will blow up about 1/4th of the bloons, so that hitting all four bomb bloons will completely clear the playfield.

    You'll want to target the bomb bloons from right to left, as the hardest shot is the rightmost one (due to the effect of gravity on your darts).

    First shot: This should be a max-powered shot, aimed at the very top of the top bloon in the column the rightmost bomb bloon is in.

    Second shot: Again, max-powered, aimed at the top of the bloon that is right above the now-rightmost bomb bloon.

    Third shot: Same as the second shot.

    Fourth shot: A max-powered shot, aimed at the top of the remaining bomb bloon.

    My best score is 100% / 45.

  58. Ice Bounce  [index]

  59. This level is one of the few that has a particular trick to it, and often stumps players. It's not too hard to get the target score of 28 bloons.

    The hard way to win this level, and what at first looks like the intended approach, is to pop an ice bloon on the right, along with three of the adjacent normal bloons, in order to freeze the remaining adjacent bloons; then to bounce a dart off of the frozen bloons, toward the mine bloons to the left. This can be done, but it's not too easy.

    The trick (or maybe just an undocumented feature), is that a max-powered shot fired at the mine bloon nearest you can set off the explosive chain reaction, even though the dart is blocked by the row of metal walls between you and that mine bloon. I suppose this can be thought of as "the dart hits the wall so hard, the shock wave sets off the mine on the other side", which sounds plausible enough to me.

    First shot: You'll want to first target the block on the right side, with its 6 normal bloons and two ice bloons. Since you can get from 4 to 6 bloons with this shot, you'll want your best score here first. Find whether the upper ice bloon touches the normal bloon below it, and aim about 5 pixels or so to the right of that spot, and shoot with max power. You can always get 4 bloons with this shot, often 5, and occasionally even 6.

    Second shot: Aim at the center of the third mine bloon from the bottom. When max power is reached (the targeting arrow touches the center of the targeted mine icon), fire. This should pop all 24 bloons on the left side.

    My best score: 93.8% / 30.

  60. The Cell  [index]

  61. This level is not too difficult. To look at it, it's hard to figure out what to do, and it takes some playing around in order to find a way. You have 8 darts to shoot with, plus any multi-darts and/or boomerangs you can pick up. I haven't thoroughly analyzed this level, so there may be better ways, but I have gotten a pretty good best score, and here's how I do it:

    First shot / Second shot / Third shot / Fourth shot: You'll want to chip away at the breakable walls to the upper left. Locate the multi-dart on the left side, near the top. You'll want to aim strong shots just to the right of the middle dart on that bloon. The first three shots will break one breakable wall each.

    The fourth, if executed correctly, will pop the multi-dart bloon in addition to the breakable wall to its right.

    Fifth shot: This should be a max-powered shot, aimed at the same spot. The force of the shot should trigger the bomb-bloon chain reaction, leaving you with a score of 67.

    After this, there are several different places you have to shoot. First, the easiest one:

    Sixth shot: This should be a max-powered shot aimed at the third tack bloon from the right in the top row. This should pop more bloons, leaving you with a score of 99, one short of the target, and you still have 3 darts left.

    Seventh shot: This should be a high arc, with medium power, that goes up and to the right, then comes down and pops the tack bloon in the lower right. It's not very easy to do, and it's too bad you can't practice this without doing the first five shots over again.

    Eighth shot / Ninth shot: The remaining bloons on the right side should be a column of 6-8. I use my last two darts to pop as many of these as possible.

    Using this approach, a best score 117 is possible, and maybe even more. This is a CHALLENGE.

    You may notice that after the big bomb-bloon chain reaction, there is an "alley" that goes to the upper left, through which you can shoot. You can use this to detonate the tack-bloon reaction (a different approach to the Sixth shot), but I don't think this is as easy to do. Also, you may wonder whether you should use this

    approach for the Eighth and Ninth shots, but I think this isn't nearly as good as the approach given above, since the angle through the "alley" is so awkward.

    My best score is 91.3% / 116.

  62. Backwards Glance  [index]

  63. This a level in which it is hard to pop enough bloons to hit the target score.

    First shot: This is this hardest single shot, I think, but it's independent of any others so it comes first. Locate the leftmost ice bloon in the bottom row of ice bloons. Locate a spot about 5 pixels above its lowest point, and shoot at it with EXACTLY maximum power. This can pop 8 bloons, which is valuable compared to the 6 or 7 you'll hit here if you don't shoot just right.

    Second shot: Locate the leftmost extra-dart bloon, aim at its top edge, and shoot with maximum power. This should pop most of the row of bloons below the extra-dart-bloon row, and also the three-bloon half-row to the lower right of these. This will give you a score of 18 or so.

    You're probably now left with one dart. You want to use it to pick up the two extra-dart bloons, then use those last two darts to clear out the upper two rows, one at a time, giving you a total score of 45.

    Third shot: A medium-powered arc shot that goes up and to the left, popping any stray bloon(s) to the lower right of the upper three rows, and popping the entire third row.

    Fourth shot: A higher arc, with more power, popping the entire second row.

    Fifth shot: A yet high arc, with yet more power, popping the entire top row.

    This should leave you with a score of 45, two more than the target 43.

    With a little practice, following the precise targeting of the first two shots with experienced arc shots for the last three, it's not hard to get a score of 45 fairly repeatably.

    My best score is 62.5% / 45. I get the feeling that it might be possible to get one more bloon somehow, but I can't see how at the moment, so I'll leave that for a CHALLENGE.

  64. Danger!  [index]

  65. This level calls for finesse, and is somewhat hard. You only have three darts, and thankfully only two of the three shots are tricky ones.

    The rule of thumb here is to shoot over the bloon masses and pop the tack bloons on the outside - never hit the inside tack bloons, or the ice bloons, directly.

    First shot: Aim a fairly strong shot at the two rows of bloons in the lower right. You can usually pop 5, often 6, and sometimes even 7 bloons with this shot. 6 or even 5 is okay, as long as the remaining bloons are within range of the tack bloon in the lower right.

    Second shot: This is the hardest one, but at least you can practice this by itself, again and again, to get a feel for the correct angle and power. You want a pretty strong shot that goes high and slightly to the right (strong enough that it goes briefly off the top of the screen), and then comes down and pops both of the "outside" tack bloons. Depending on how the dart falls, this can take your score up as high as 30, but always at least 25.

    Third shot: this is somewhat of a mirror image of the second shot, but a bit easier. You want a medium-powered shot that goes up and slightly to the left (but it need not be strong enough to go off the top of the screen), and comes down to pop the tack bloon on the upper left. If you practice this shot enough, you'll find that it's possible to pop up to 14 bloons with this shot.

    Therefore, the best score possible is at least 44, and that's a real CHALLENGE.

    My best score is 66.7% / 42.

  66. Igloos  [index]

  67. This level is easier than it looks at first. You needn't bother with any of the special bloons (boomerangs, extra-dart) except for the two bomb bloons. And you must target the lower one first (otherwise a dropping mine from the upper bloon mass can trigger the ice bloons in the lower bloon mass, thwarting your target score.

    First shot: Aim at the top of the lower bomb bloon, and use a max-power shot. The exploding bomb should destroy the entire lower bloon mass, giving you a score of 31.

    Second shot: This is a little harder, but not that hard at all. This is a gentle arc, with very low power, that should pop the remaining bomb bloon, without touching the ice bloons around it. This exploding bomb should destroy the entire upper bloon mass, clearing all objects from the playfield and giving you a score of 63, more than the target of 58.

    My best score is 100% / 63.

  68. Fuggetaboudit  [index]

  69. This level, minimal as it is, still looks a little weird at first. But the concept to solve it is simple. You have to be pretty accurate with your shots, but they're not all that hard. Unfortunately, there are no visual reference points for these shots, so it's a matter of developing the right "feel".

    First shot: This is a simple up-and-down arc to the right, with medium power. On the way up it should pop the boomerang bloon, and on the way down it should pop the bomb bloon. This is not too hard, and you can practice it again and again. The bomb's explosion will pop the two ice bloons that are in your way.

    Second shot: This is your boomerang shot. Just use a medium-powered shot to the upper right (not too low or you'll hit the wall). The boomerang should come back and pop some or all of the 8 bloons on the other side of the wall. Yes, I've twice managed to get the boomerang to pop all of the bloons in one shot, resulting in a score of 100% / 12, with one unused dart remaining. However, until you get the hang of this, there will often be a column of 2-4 darts on the other side of the wall. A low-powered high arc shot can usually pop all of these.

    My best score is 100% / 12. (Needing only two out of the three available darts.)

  70. Chalice  [index]

  71. This level also looks a little weird, but the approach is very simple.

    First shot: Use a medium-powered high arc shot up and to the right; the dart should pop *BOTH* of the mine bloons on the way down, giving you a score of 16 so far, plus two more darts (from the 2 popped extra-dart bloons).

    These two darts are then used to pop all but one of the remaining bloons.

    Second shot / Third shot: Just aim both of these at the second or third breakable wall from the left, in the lower left. Angle and power don't matter much here, as long as both shots hit the same spot. Breaking through the breakable wall and popping the tack bloon on the other side sets off a chain reaction that destroys all of the remaining breakable walls and all of the remaining bloons except for one. I think that last bloon on the right-hand side is impossible to get to.

    My best score is 97.4% / 37.

  72. Pacatak  [index]

  73. This is another level that seems to stump a lot of players. The problem is what order to pop the Pac-man bloons in, given that they have finite lifetimes and you have a short time to get from one bloon mass to another. You are given three darts, but you really only need one to complete the level (and with a perfect score, too).

    Let's number the Pac-man bloons in order; here's a simple layout picture:

    First shot: This is a simple arc that goes up and to the right, popping the nearest Pac-man bloon.

    After that, switch to the keyboard and you have to move and think quickly.

    Move the Pac-man up and left, to Pac-man bloon #2.

    Then move almost all the way to the right, popping all the bloons in the top row, before moving down two spaces to Pac-man bloon #3.

    Moving #3 is the trickiest. You have to move right one and a half spaces, centering your Pac-man over the two

    rightmost columns of bloons. Then move down, and you can pop all the bloons there. When you pop the last

    bloons at the bottom of those columns, quickly move over to Pac-man bloon #4,

    Handling Pac-man objects #4 and #5 doesn't need any particular technique, I think. Once you pop #4, you can pop a few of the bloons around it (mainly on the right side), before heading up to #4. With #5, go up and pop the 2x2 bloons to the upper left, before coming back down and popping the remaining two columns of bloons that are to the left of where #4 was. The most time pressure is from #3 to #4, I think; otherwise it's fairly straightforward.

    You don't have to pop all of the bloons to win the level (only 53 out of 56), but that does at least require that you get up to the 2x2 block to the upper left of #5. If you have to miss any bloons, you can miss three of the ones around #4.

    My best score is 100% / 56. This is not too hard to achieve.

  74. Bouncebomb  [index]

  75. This is a fairly hard level, since it depends on one difficult shot.

    First shot: You have to aim a medium-powered shot up and to the right, which comes down and just misses the right side of the ice bloon in the upper left, and pops the tack bloon in the center. Contrary to the title, you do *NOT* want to bounce the bloon off of the rubber walls; this is guaranteed to either bounce your dart back out, or hit the ice bloon in the upper left. Just do a straight arc over that ice bloon. This is pretty hard to do - it takes me 10-20 tries every time. There is also no visual reference point for this shot, so you just have to develop a feel for the angle and power. This will pop 19 or 20 bloons, leaving only 2-3 bloons in the upper row (one on the left, and one or two on the right). (There are also frozen bloons at the bottom.)

    Note that it is possible for the bloon to enter the upper side of the bloon mass, and enter out the right side, without popping the tack bloon. This can pop up to 9 bloons, and is easier to do, but I think it's superfluous, as the desired shot will pop the same bloons.

    Second shot: a fairly easy arc to pop the one or two bloons in the upper right of the just-popped bloon mass.

    Third shot: similarly, a shorter arc to pop the single bloon in the upper left of the previously-popped bloon mass.

    It is possible to get a score of 88% / 22 with the first three darts, with one remaining unused. I can't see any use for the fourth dart, assuming optimal play.

    My best score is 88% / 22. However, I get the feeling that it might be possible to pop one more bloon, and that's a CHALLENGE.

  76. Lockdown  [index]

  77. This may be about the most frustrating level in the game. Not because of the difficulty of the shots per se, but because it exposes so many weird effects (dare I say bugs?) with the rubber walls. Even more than in other levels with rubber walls, your darts will bounce off, or through, these rubber walls in very unpredictable ways. So there is a lot of randomness in the level, making it fairly hard to pop the target 20 (out of 31) bloons in the level. No specific shot placements can be given here, just general suggestions.

    First shot: The same general technique is used for all your shots in this level. In the column of three rubber walls in the upper left, aim at the open space to the right of the middle wall (where the center of a wall would be if it were next to the existing wall). Use fairly strong power, up to max power. The dart should bounce off that center wall and go up and come down to the right, and hopefully keep bouncing to the right, popping bloons in various locations.

    Second shot / Third shot / Fourth shot: Same as the first, with variations in power, and even slighter variations in angle.

    Since it's hard to pop the target 20 bloons, I think the 2x5 rectangle of bloons in the upper right of the playfield should be your first target. If you don't pop those on your first dart, reset and keep trying. Popping these takes you halfway to your target, with 3 darts remaining.

    The bloons in the two masses at the bottom are usually the hardest to clear out. But if you get the 10 in the upper right, then it's not too hard to pop to other two masses (totaling 11 more bloons) in the upper part of the playfield, thus winning the level.

    My best score is 100% / 31, using all four darts. (Just when I was about to give up, with my previous best at 26 bloons, I achieved this!)

  78. Ice Cave  [index]

  79. This is a pretty hard level. You only have two darts and the ice bloons are a major obstacle if you're trying to get to the normal bloons hidden inside.

    There are two approaches here: one if you just want to win the level (you can get the target 26, or even 27 bloons, without too much effort); and the other depends much more on luck, but is how you can usually pop more bloons.

    The easier way:

    First shot: Aim with near-maximum power at maybe the tenth rubber wall from the left, in the bottom row. You'll have to play with the angle and power here, but it is possible to pop 15 bloons here - a few on the way "out", and most of them (the upper row of the two rows of ice bloons at the bottom of the playfield) after the dart bounces back. This is somewhat hard to do, so keep trying until you get at least 14 bloons, as every bloon is needed in order to achieve the target score.

    Second shot: This is a much easier shot to repeat. Locate the second and third bloons from the left, in the top row, and aim at a spot a few pixels below where they touch. Using medium power, it is pretty easy to pop 12 bloons with this shot (sometimes 11, and rarely 13).

    Using these two relatively easy shots, you can in theory get a score of at least 28 (I've gotten 27 this way, getting more is a CHALLENGE).

    The harder, more unpredictable (but higher scoring) way:

    First shot: Shoot a high arc, with fairly high power, over the top of the bloon mass, so the dart hits near the corner where the horizontal and vertical rubber walls meet (different targets points will of course have different effects, as will slight changes in the power used). The dart can bounce up, pop a few normal bloons, most of the ice bloons in the top two rows, *AND* still have enough energy to come down the left side and pop more ice bloons there. This shot can pop at least 18 bloons, I find.

    Second shot: This is the same shot as described for "The easier way" above. With at least 15 shots here, and at least 18 on the first shot, you can pop at least 33 bloons using this "harder way".

    My best score is 49.2% / 32 (18 bloons and 14 bloons, using the "harder way"). Note that I've shown that it's possible to score 33 bloons using the "harder way", and I suspect that a rare "First shot" can pop even more than 18 bloons, leading to scores of 34 or maybe even more. Doing so is a CHALLENGE.

  80. Myriad  [index]

  81. This is a pretty messy, and confusing level. But with eight darts, and a little experience, it's not hard to reach the target score of 50 bloons popped. In fact, it's possible to get a perfect score of 100% / 67 - I've done it a couple of times. I'm sure there are other approaches, but here's how I do it:

    First shot / Second shot: These are max-powered shots aimed directly at the boomerang bloon; the first shot will break the breakable wall to the left of it, and the second shot will pop the boomerang bloon.

    Third shot: I think the boomerang shot is most useful on the "pyramid" of bloons in the upper left. Just aim a pixel or two to the right of the center of the pyramid, and shoot with max power. Between its trip "out" and its trip back "in", the dart should pop all 9 bloons in the pyramid. In fact, this is very rare, but a couple of times, I've been able to do this and also pop the multi-dart bloon on the right side of the arc.

    But let's assume we didn't manage to do so here.

    Fourth shot: This is simple; just make a max-powered shot at the multi-dart bloon; this should also break the lower-left corner of the breakable walls surrounding the bomb bloons.

    Fifth shot: This is a multi-dart shot. But don't worry about the multiple darts. Simply aim at the tack bloon on the right side (this is where the middle of your three darts will go). Use medium power; this is not a hard shot to make. The tack bloon should trigger a chain reaction that activates the Pac-man bloon; quickly switch to the keyboard and move the Pac-man right, down then left, popping all the bloons in the metal-walled corridor.

    Sixth shot: This should be a max-powered shot at the lower-left corner of bomb bloons; this should blow up the bomb bloons and any nearby normal bloons.

    At this point, the only bloons remaining should be a few in the middle of the playfield, and a few above the metal-walled corridor. With two darts remaining, it's not too hard to pop all of these bloons with simple, medium-powered arc shots.

    My best score is 100% / 67.

  82. Chilly Chips  [index]

  83. This is a hard level to do on your own, but once you know the following technique, it's easy to get the target score of 42 bloons every time. You start with 4 darts.

    First shot: This should be a max-powered arc shot that pops the leftmost diagonal row of bloons in the upper left of the playfield. If you're lucky, this can just barely arc over the topmost ice bloon and pop two to four more normal bloons on the right side.

    Second shot: This is similar to the first, but slightly to the right. This should pop the remaining bloons to the left of the leftmost ice-bloon diagonal.

    The first two shots are pretty repeatable, so you should always be able to get a score of 21, or up to 25 if you're lucky with the first shot.

    Third shot: Locate the rightmost ice bloon, and aim at the center of the bloon above it (which may have been already popped by the first shot). Shoot with maximum power, and this will usually pop 12 bloons or so, maybe more, depending on how the dart bounces around inside the freezing bloons.

    Fourth shot: This is your last dart at this point, so aim low and to the right, with a smidgen more than minimum power, to pop the lowest row of two normal bloons, and also the two lowest multi-dart bloons. You might even be able to pop the ice bloon in the lower right, giving you 5 bloons popped with this shot.

    Fifth shot: I'm not sure of a good strategy with this multi-dart shot. I aim up and to the right, trying to hit as many of the lowest ice bloons and normal bloons as possible.

    Sixth shot: This should be a normal dart again, and you should finish off with a max-powered shot that goes straight up the row of ice bloons in the upper left, hopefully popping all 6 of them.

    My best score is 67.9% / 53. I was using the above technique, but to be honest, I wasn't paying attention with the last couple of darts. I know I got extremely lucky, but I don't know how I managed to pop 5 more bloons when my previous best was 48. Repeating this, and/or describing how it's done, is a CHALLENGE.

  84. D in the D  [index]

  85. This is a fairly straightforward level; it only has one somewhat difficult shot, and if you get it right, it's not hard to get the target score of 32 bloons.

    First shot: This should be a medium-powered shot that arcs low and to the right, popping the upper row of 5 mine bloons. This will cause a chain reaction that gets you a score of 25 with this first shot. You'll want to keep practicing this until you get all 5 mines in the top row.

    Second shot: This is a shot that goes to the right and slightly down, going down the "channel" to the right that contains 2 columns of 4 bloons each. I don't know whether a lot of power or a little is required, and I'm not sure it matters. Assuming you get the dart to bounce back and forth on the way down, you'll usually pop 6 of the bloons, sometimes 7, and rarely 8.

    Third shot: This should be a gentle low arc that goes over the metal wall to your upper right, and pops the row of 6 normal bloons without touching the ice bloons below. Usually you'll only manage 3-4 bloons here, if you don't miss completely, but it's possible to pop all 6 with this shot (I've only done it once).

    Fourth shot: This is the easiest one - a max-powered shot to the right that pops all 4 ice bloons.

    My best score is 95.3% / 41. I've proven with the 4 individual shots above that it's possible to get a perfect score of 100% / 43, but I haven't done it yet myself, so that is a CHALLENGE.

  86. Showertime  [index]

  87. This is not a hard level, in theory; it just calls for finesse, more with how much power to use than what angle to use. You have 7 darts, with which you want to pop the 6 mine bloons on the left, and the 7 mine bloons on the right. Each mine bloon will then pop the 3 normal bloons below itself.

    I can't really give exact angle/power directions here. You can easily find that a medium-low powered bounce slight elevated and aimed at the left or right rubber wall will bounce so as to pop some of the nearby mine bloons.

    In theory, two darts per side can suffice, leaving you with three darts unused. However, you can use the "shooting through rubber walls" feature (bug?) to your advantage. On each side, use

    a max-powered shot, aimed at the second bloon from the outside. The dart will pass through the rubber wall and pop 3, and often 4, bloons. The innermost 2 or 3 bloons on each side seem to be impossible to reach this way, so you must use the aforementioned bounce-off-the-rubber-walls shots to pop them. Still, this method can

    also pop all 52 bloons with only 4 darts.

    My best score is 100% / 52. (But I'm not sure if I've done it with only 4 darts, using either method; doing so is a CHALLENGE.)

  88. Not So Hot  [index]

  89. This level is not hard to play in theory, but I often find I have trouble with important shots here, as there are no aiming reference points, and you have to do high arcs of various widths. But assuming you can do at least most of your shots somewhat accurately, it's not hard to achieve the target score.

    First shot / Second shot / Third shot: You'll want to pop the three extra-dart bloons, and the two stray breakable walls that are behind the upper two of those. This will take three darts, of moderate power and increasing high arcs. Note that it is possible to pop all three of the extra-dart bloons with a single dart - try it, it's cool. But you'll still need a second and a third dart to pop those two breakable walls.

    I'm not entirely convinced you need to break those walls, actually, but I'm pretty sure you do. You need to get darts into the "Vault" on the right hand side, and also to pop the Pac-man bloon in the lower right, and those walls are pretty much in the way; but maybe really skillful shots can work around them.

    Fourth shot: This should be a high are that goes up and to the right, then comes down to pop the Pac-man bloon. Quickly switching to the keyboard, you should go up and, working back and forth, clear out the 2-wall wide sections of breakable walls. I think you only need to clear out the first four, ignoring the uppermost 2-wall section. Then quickly move right and pop up to 5 normal bloons.

    Fifth shot / Sixth shot / Seventh shot: These should be arcs that go up and to the right, and down into the "vault" which is no longer blocked by breakable walls. It's hard to do these accurately, so you just have to rely on "feel" and "luck". Even with all my experience, it's hard to get all three darts into the vault.

    My best score is 74% / 27. I can't prove it, but I guess that better scores might be possible, so that is a CHALLENGE.

  90. Ears  [index]

  91. This is a pretty hard level - you have to fight for every bloon, just to reach the target score.

    There are also no handy reference points here, so there's a lot of trial and error.

    First shot: This is the hardest. It's an arc shot with almost minimum power, over the nearest ice bloon, and just barely passing on the left of the leftmost breakable wall (without hitting it), and popping bloons down to the bottommost one. This shot can pop up to 11 bloons. In fact, I keep resetting the level until I pop 11, since every bloon counts in this level.

    Second shot: This is easier, but still a little hard to get consistently. It's a medium-powered arc up and to the right, that passes through the row of 3 bloons near the top of the playfield, and passes to the left of the rightmost ice bloon. This shot can sometimes pop 11 bloons, and I've gotten 12 once.

    Third shot: You should only need to pop 3 or maybe even just 2 bloons with your last dart, and there should be a handy irregular group of bloons near the bottom of the playfield that you can pop with a fairly strong shot. I can often get 3 with this dart, sometimes 4.

    My best score is 68.4% / 26 (1 more bloon than the target score). Note that the paths of the First and Third shots intersect a little, but I think there's still a possibility of popping 27 or maybe even 28 bloons in this level, with enough skill and/or luck, but that'll be a CHALLENGE.

  92. Bloon of Damacles  [index]

  93. This is a slightly hard level to figure out at first, to look at it, but once you know the following strategy, it's fairly easy to beat the target score of 58 bloons by 1, and sometimes 2, bloons.

    First shot: Aim a little below the center of the breakable wall nearest you, and shot with max power. This should pop 4 or 5 bloons - you'll probably want to get 5 - ending with hitting the breakable wall and destroying it. Note that it's rarely possible to get 6 bloons with this shot, but you probably don't want to do this, as it means the middle row of the 3x3 bloon block near you is cleared out. You'll want to keep the leftmost bloon in this row unpopped, for later use. (Note that a couple of times, I've even gotten a score of

    7 with this shot; the aforementioned 5 or 6, plus the dart passed between the breakable wall and the bloon to its lower left, popping one or two bloons in the row below that breakable wall, and managed to hit the second or third wall from the left in the upper long breakable wall below. Interesting to note, but not useful, I don't think.)

    Second shot: This should be a strong shot aimed at the bomb bloon.

    Third shot: This should be a quick, easy shot aimed at the ice bloon, freezing the aforementioned "leftmost bloon in the middle row of the 3x3 bloon block".

    Fourth shot: This is not too hard, but aiming needs to be somewhat precise. Aim a max-powered shot at the bloon mentioned in the Third shot, and the dart should bounce up and hit the mine bloon, popping it and triggering a chain reaction. Note that the chain reaction will never (as far as I can tell) pop all of the bloons in the lower section; it'll usually leave 1 or maybe 2 frozen bloons.

    These four shots are not hard, and will almost always give you a score of at least 58.

    Note one rare shot that I can't manage to repeat consistently. It's possible to combine the Second shot and the Third shot in one. A few times, I've aimed strong shots a few pixels below the nearest ice bloon, and the dart manages to pop the ice bloon *AND* the bomb bloon, thus saving you one dart. But this is pretty tricky.

    My best score is 93.8% / 60. I have a feeling that it might be possible to pop one more bloon in the upper left section - or maybe not. That's a CHALLENGE.

  94. The Matrix  [index]

  95. This level looks a little daunting at first, but there's no real trick to it. It can, however, be a little tricky to get a perfect score - you have to be quick and accurate when moving your Pac-man characters.

    First shot: A minimum-powered shot aimed at the Pac-man bloon to your upper right. You don't want more power because if the shot goes too far to the right, it'll mess up things.

    After you pop the first Pac-man bloon, quickly switch to the keyboard, because from here on out, all you do is move the Pac-man to clear out the rest of the playfield objects. Quickly move to the right, popping the first 8 mine bloons in the top row.

    When the last mine in that section drops, it'll activate the second (now-leftmost) Pac-man bloon. Quickly move straight up to the top row (but making a brief jog to the right to pop the third Pac-man bloon, then back left), and move all the way right to clear the rest of the top row of mine bloons.

    When the last mine in the top row drops, it'll activate the last Pac-man bloon, at the lower right. The upper section of the playfield should have all bloons and mines destroyed.

    Quickly move all the way to the left, along the upper of the two rows of normal bloons. You don't need to move to the bottom row to pop those bloons, as the tack bloons you pop in the upper row will take care of them. The only exception is the very leftmost bloon in the bottom row; when you pop the bloon above it, briefly move down to pop it, then back up, and back left to pop the remaining two bloons.

    My best score is 100% / 113. This is pretty easy to repeat.

  96. Wrong Side  [index]

  97. This can be a tricky level if you pop the ice bloons too early. Otherwise, it's pretty easy, but does rely on the "shooting through metal walls" trick.

    First shot: This is the hardest, but only takes a little practice. This is a fairly low-powered shot up and to the right. It should pop the row of 5 normal bloons under the uppermost ice bloon, without popping that ice bloon. On its way down, the dart should pop tack bloons in the upper right, popping a bunch of normal bloons. If the dart happens to pop the ice bloon on the lower right, you'll want to reset and try again.

    Second shot: This is simple, but a trick. Just use a max-powered shot straight down. The dart should pass through the metal wall, pop the tack bloons, and set off a chain reaction.

    At this point, the only objects left on the playfield (besides the metal walls) should be the two ice bloons.

    Third shot: It's not too difficult to do a medium-powered, somewhat high arc that manages to pop both of the ice bloons in one shot.

    Fourth shot: If not, you have one more dart to do it with.

    My best score is 100% / 93. I've managed to do this with only 3 darts, leaving one dart unused.

  98. The End  [index]

  99. This is not really a puzzle, merely the "Congratulations, you win!" screen.

    You have nine darts to use here (I don't know why, since you only need one, and it's an easy shot).

    First shot: You can probably shoot almost any way you want here, and still set off the chain reaction that totally clears the playfield objects. But the sure way that I always do it is with a max-powered shot straight up.

    My best score is 100% / 260. Note that since this is the last level, and you've won the game, no completion percentage is actually shown; I think the percentage is 100% anyway, as the screen is cleared of bloons.
